YouTube is experimenting with a new feature for its mobile app that would allow users to lock their screen to prevent accidental touches while watching a video. The feature is aimed to avoid accidental taps that lead to unintentionally pausing and skipping the video, leading to disruption. The company announced the experiment on its YouTube Experiments page.
