Government announces Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar: What are they, timelines and more

The Indian government has introduced a new set of National Awards called "Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar" to recognize the contributions of scientists, technologists, and innovators in the fields of science, technology, and innovation. The awards will be given in four categories, including lifetime achievements, distinguished contributions, young scientists, and team contributions. Both individuals and teams working in government, private sector organizations, or independently will be eligible for the awards. The nominations will be reviewed by a committee headed by the Principal Scientific Adviser and winners will be announced on National Technology Day.
