Reddit has introduced its new "Contributor Program," allowing users to convert Reddit gold into actual money. The platform is also changing its rewards system, replacing Reddit Coins with all gold. Users can now purchase gold by long-pressing an upvote button on mobile or hovering over it on a desktop. Gold can be given to posts and comments, but with certain restrictions. Receiving a golden upvote can contribute to earning real money through the Contributor Program, which will be available to eligible Redditors in the US over the age of 18. The program will launch next week.
