Google will be showcasing YouTube Shorts series, The Play Report, on the Play Store. The video series will highlight the best apps and games on Google Play, with expert voices from Googlers and YouTubers. The videos will be displayed in a carousel format at the top of the Play Store, and will also be shared on Google Play's social media accounts. Google is testing this feature in the US to promote popular and trending apps. YouTube Shorts' popularity, however, poses a challenge for YouTube's long-form video business.
