During the antitrust case against Google in the US, CEO Sundar Pichai revealed that the company had proposed preinstalling a Google Search app on every iOS device to Apple CEO Tim Cook in 2018. However, Apple did not agree as it does not preload third-party software on its devices. Pichai also mentioned that he and Cook meet about once a year to discuss their partnership. Google highlighted that Apple has control over the amount and type of traffic received by Safari, not Google.
