Microsoft may make gaming sessions more ‘memorable’, here’s how

Microsoft is developing a new feature for Xbox that will allow users to automatically upload screenshots and videos to OneDrive. Currently being tested with Xbox Insiders, the feature will guide users through the process of syncing clips and offer the option to upload existing ones. Users will be able to individually select which files to upload, but Microsoft warns that it may take a couple of days for large collections. Future videos and screenshots can also be automatically uploaded with the feature enabled. However, there are still issues with long upload times and 4K recordings not being supported.

iPhone users may receive $65 from Apple, here's why

Apple has been cleared by a U.S. judge to pay up to $500m to settle a class-action lawsuit claiming that the company secretly slowed down certain iPhone models to address battery and processing problems. Owners of eligible older models were expected to receive about $65 each, however, exact payouts depend on numbers of claims approved from approximately three million claims made so far. Krafton to introduce Indian Faction in Road To Valor: Empires

Dreamotion and Krafton are adding an all-new Indian Faction to their PvP strategy game, Road To Valor: Empires. The new faction is inspired by ancient Indian tales and legends and will feature unique powers of Guardians and battle units of Indian origin. Krafton added a Hindi user interface earlier this year to bring an immersive experience to Indian players and is now localizing the game further by introducing culturally resonant dimensions. Note that the game features an invite-only voice chat feature, which is available in Friendly Battle, 2 vs 2 Battles and Custom Battle modes.

Digital Police portal: Here's all that you can do on this ministry of home affairs website

The Digital Police Portal was launched by India's National Crime Records Bureau in 2017 and provides citizen services at both state and central level. As of 2021, citizens can locate police stations, generate vehicle NOC, obtain information about fugitives and missing persons and file complaints through the portal. Nine other state police citizen portals offer a range of mandated services through the Digital Police Portal. In addition, the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal, launched in 2019, enables citizens to report incidents of cybercrime. Law enforcement agencies and state/UT police can access the portal's crime and criminal database.

Planet cuts 10% work force, read CEO Will Marshall’s email to employees on job cuts

Satellite imagery provider Planet is cutting 10% of its workforce, equivalent to 117 jobs, as it aims to boost revenue during the ongoing downturn. CEO Will Marshall said the redundancies were the result of a review of company finances. Planet went public 18 months ago, and expanded by building teams and taking on new projects. Marshall said the company will focus on the highest ROI opportunities, while seeking greater efficiencies and battling the macroeconomic environment. Each division lead is preparing to send an email detailing changes to teams.

Galaxy S24+ may get ‘bigger’ battery than Galaxy S23: Report

Samsung is reportedly increasing the battery capacity of its Galaxy S24+ and S24 Ultra compared to the recently launched S23 series. Certificates issued by Dekra suggest the S24+ will have a battery capacity of 4755mAh, while the S24 Ultra will come with a 4855mAh capacity. That compares to a 4855mAh battery in the S23 Ultra and a reported 5000mAh typical battery in the S24 Ultra. It is not yet known whether the charging speed will be increased. The S24 range is expected to launch in January or February 2024.

Google gives the Fitbit app a Material You makeover

The Fitbit app has been redesigned for simplicity, personalisation, and motivation, with Google giving it a Material You style makeover on Android and iOS. The redesign features three tabs: Today, Coach, and You, providing access to metrics, workout and mindfulness sessions, and achievement badges. Fitbit Premium subscribers will have access to more content, including dance cardio classes. The app still tracks steps and exercises on your phone without a wearable and is set to launch in the autumn, with select users being invited to participate in a closed beta test and provide feedback.

Microsoft Teams has added spatial audio to aid communication, and reduce meeting fatigue, for users of the video-conferencing platform. The feature is designed to mimic an in-person conversation by spatially separating voices of meeting participants. By enabling a more natural listening experience, individual voices are easier to track during simultaneous speeches thus resulting in lower cognitive load.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg prefers Samsung phones due to the large number of Android users worldwide, as stated during a conversation with YouTuber Marques Brownlee. While Zuckerberg did not mention the specific model he uses, pictures on his Instagram account suggest he uses a Samsung Galaxy S21 or S21+. Zuckerberg's preference for Samsung phones appears to be unchanged despite the popularity of iPhones in Silicon Valley.
